- Like ginger, fresh turmeric is a very different animal to the ground version.
- It has a strong, hot, earthy tang which, used in very small amounts, can transform very simple foods like rice and soup into more exotic dishes.
- Try in curries and lentil dishes. For best results, use thinly sliced sticks or grate the root, but beware – fresh turmeric stains like pollen!
